ResiCare Staffing Ltd supplies experienced Residential Support Workers to Ofsted-regulated children’s homes across Leicester and the surrounding areas.
We are looking for reliable, compassionate and skilled individuals who are passionate about supporting vulnerable children and young people. You will help create a safe, stable and nurturing environment in which every young person feels respected, supported and encouraged to reach their potential.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Residential Support Worker, your duties may include:
• Providing consistent, person-centred support to children and young people in residential care
• Building positive, professional and trusting relationships
• Supporting young people with daily routines, education, appointments and recreational activities
• Encouraging independence, confidence and the development of practical life skills
• Promoting positive behaviour using calm, appropriate and trauma-informed approaches
• Responding safely and professionally to challenging situations
• Following individual care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures
• Maintaining accurate daily records, incident reports and handover notes
• Administering medication when trained and authorised to do so
• Working closely with permanent staff, social workers, families and other professionals
• Supporting the smooth running of the home, including cooking, cleaning and general household duties
• Protecting the privacy, dignity and rights of every young person

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Applicants should have:
• Previous experience supporting children or young people in a residential, care, education, youth-work or similar setting
• A good understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries
• The ability to complete clear and accurate written records
• The right to work in the UK
• Satisfactory employment references
• A willingness to complete all required safer-recruitment and compliance checks, including an Enhanced DBS check
A full UK driving licence may be required for some placements.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
The following would be an advantage:
• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, Children and Young People’s Workforce, or an equivalent qualification
• Experience working in an Ofsted-regulated children’s home
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care and therapeutic approaches
• Experience supporting young people with emotional or behavioural needs, learning disabilities, autism or complex needs
• Current training in safeguarding, first aid, medication, positive behaviour support or physical intervention
