Pertemps are currently recruiting for a Cylinder Preparation Operative to join a well-established global industrial manufacturing business based in Immingham.
This is a hands-on role working within a safety-critical production environment, preparing, inspecting and testing cylinders and drums to ensure they meet strict quality, safety and regulatory standards.
The position would suit someone with a strong mechanical background who is comfortable working to detailed procedures and maintaining high standards of safety and accuracy.
What will I be paid?
£17.20 per hour
What hours will I be working?
37 hours per week
Normal hours: 07:00 – 14:30
Additional or alternative shifts may occasionally be available depending on business requirements
What will I be doing?
Preparing cylinders and drums in line with production schedules
Inspecting and testing equipment to ensure it meets required safety and quality standards
Replacing valves and carrying out basic mechanical preparation work
Washing, drying and leak-testing cylinders and drums
Carrying out statutory testing and assessing results against required standards
Safely supporting the disposal of toxic, corrosive and flammable gases in line with company procedures
Maintaining accurate technical records and documentation
Carrying out routine inspections and basic maintenance of disposal and treatment equipment
Supporting waste management and site compliance procedures
Working closely with colleagues to maintain a safe and efficient operation
What skills and experience do I need?
Good mechanical aptitude
Ideally an NVQ Level 3 mechanical qualification or around 3 years' relevant mechanical experience
Comfortable working within a safety-focused industrial environment
Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
GCSEs, Functional Skills or equivalent in Maths and English
Good attention to detail and ability to follow technical procedures
Reliable and safety-conscious approach to work
FLT licence would be advantageous, but is not essential
