The Role:
As a WCA Functional Assessor, you'll assess how an individual's health conditions or disabilities affect their functional ability and capacity for work. You will:

Conduct telephone, video and face-to-face assessments

Take detailed clinical histories using structured questioning

Explore the impact of physical, mental and cognitive conditions

Assess functional ability and work-related limitations
-
Review medical evidence and supporting information
-
Apply clinical reasoning and professional judgement

Produce clear, accurate and evidence-based reports
-
Manage your own caseload while meeting quality standards and deadlines
The role is focused on assessing, analysing and reporting, rather than treating or providing hands-on care.
What We're Looking For:

Registered Nurse, Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist

Active NMC or HCPC registration

Minimum 12 months' post-registration clinical experience

Strong clinical assessment and reasoning skills

Confident communication and report-writing abilities

Good IT and organisational skills
-
Able to work independently and make evidence-based decisions

You don't need previous Functional Assessor experience.
You'll receive structured, fully paid training covering WCA methodology, assessment techniques, evidence evaluation, clinical reasoning and report writing.
