Astute's Strategic Division are currently recruiting for 2x Mechanical Fitters to join the Operator on an operational Waste to Energy facility based in North Yorkshire on an initial 3 months contract basis.
The Mechanical Fitter positions come with a day rate from £30.00 to £35.00 per hour Inside IR35.
Role responsibilities and key skills for the role:
Carry out planned preventive maintenance and corrective mechanical repairs to maximise plant availability.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical faults across equipment in Mechanical Treatment, Anaerobic Digestion, and Incineration areas.
Complete all maintenance records and work orders accurately within the CMMS system.
Support safe working practices by following permits, risk assessments, and leading by example during toolbox talks and handovers.
Assist with monitoring plant performance and work closely with operations and engineering teams to meet site KPIs.
Coordinate with contractors and suppliers during on-site maintenance or repair activities.
Contribute to managing mechanical spare parts, ensuring stock accuracy and availability.
Provide support and guidance to less experienced team members, helping to develop technical capability within the team.
Level 3 Mechanical Engineering qualification or time-served mechanical apprenticeship.
Proven experience carrying out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance, including fault-finding and repair activities.Location, day rate and timeframe of the Mechanical Fitter positions:
