Bar / Plate Saw Operative
Location: Birmingham
Pay Rate: £15.38 per hour
Hours: Monday–Friday, 08:30–16:30
Contract: Temporary to Permanent
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Bar / Plate Saw Operative to join our client's busy manufacturing operation in Birmingham.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced saw operative looking for a long-term position, with the opportunity to become permanent following a successful temporary period.
The RoleAs a Bar / Plate Saw Operative, your responsibilities will include:
Operating bar saw and plate saw machinery safely and efficiently.
Cutting metal accurately to customer specifications and required dimensions.
Reading and following cutting instructions, drawings and job specifications.
Measuring materials and ensuring cuts are completed accurately.
Checking finished materials for quality and accuracy.
Operating a counterbalance forklift to load and unload stock and materials.
Moving and storing metal stock safely around the warehouse and production area.
Loading and unloading deliveries using the forklift.
Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
Following all company health & safety procedures.
Working efficiently to meet production and customer requirements.
About YouThe successful candidate will have:
Previous experience operating both bar saw and plate saw machinery.
A valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence – this is essential for the role.
Previous experience working with metal products/materials.
The ability to accurately measure and cut materials to specification.
Good attention to detail and a strong focus on quality.
A good understanding of workplace health & safety.
A reliable and hardworking approach.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
