Lynx Employment Services is recruiting an experienced Waste & Fleet Training Compliance Officer to support a busy operational waste and fleet service.
This is a hands-on role combining driver training and coaching with fleet compliance and competency management. You’ll work directly with drivers, loaders, street cleansing operatives and other frontline staff, helping ensure training, licences, assessments and competencies remain compliant and up to date.
Key responsibilities include:
Maintaining the operational training and competency matrix
Monitoring licence checks, qualifications, certificates and refresher dates
Delivering driver training, coaching and assessments
Conducting vehicle familiarisation and walk-round check training
Coaching drivers to improve standards and reduce accidents
Supporting Operator Licence and DVSA compliance
Monitoring tachograph infringements and providing corrective coaching
Carrying out gate checks, crew monitoring and route compliance activity
Delivering inductions, toolbox talks and refresher training
Maintaining accurate, audit-ready training and compliance records
Identifying training requirements following incidents, audits or performance concerns
Essential:
HGV Class 2 / Category C licence or above
Experience within waste operations, fleet or a similar operational environment
Previous training/coaching experience or significant relevant driver experience
Experience maintaining training matrices and competency records
Good understanding of DVSA, Operator Licence and Health & Safety compliance
NEBOSH General Certificate/equivalent, or IOSH membership/working towards it
A Driver Assessor qualification, Driver CPC Instructor, Transport Manager CPC, WAMITAB or similar qualification would be advantageous.
Hours are generally around 8am–4pm, with flexibility required to accommodate operational training.
