Role Summary
You will provide a high-quality, customer-focused housing allocations service, supporting residents applying for social housing and transfers. You will be responsible for the efficient allocation of council and partner housing, ensuring applications, shortlisting and offers are handled accurately and in accordance with relevant housing allocation policies and procedures.
This is a varied role requiring strong housing allocations knowledge, excellent attention to detail and the ability to undertake thorough verification and investigation of housing applications.
What You Will Do as an Allocations and Verifications Officer
·Deliver a responsive and customer-focused housing allocation service to residents applying for social housing and housing transfers.
·Advertise available properties, shortlist prospective tenants by matching housing need and qualification criteria through choice-based lettings, and make direct offers where appropriate.
·Undertake detailed verification and investigation of housing applications, including home visits where necessary, ensuring applications are assessed accurately against the relevant allocation scheme, policies and procedures.
·Work closely with housing providers, including Registered Social Landlords, Housing Associations and other partner organisations, maintaining effective working relationships and supporting the best use of available social housing stock.
·Produce accurate management information, maintain detailed case records and prepare reports to support the monitoring, allocation and supply of social housing.
What You Will Need as an Allocations and Verifications Officer
·Strong experience within social housing allocations, housing registers and/or choice-based lettings.
·Experience assessing and verifying housing applications against eligibility, qualification and housing need criteria.
·Good working knowledge of housing allocation schemes, policies and procedures and the ability to apply these consistently.
·Strong investigative skills and attention to detail, with experience gathering and assessing supporting evidence.
