The Opportunity
As an Assistant Estimator / Estimating Technician, you'll support the preparation of accurate and competitive project bids, working closely with the wider estimating and project teams.
You'll be involved in analysing project requirements, developing cost estimates and ensuring bids are prepared accurately and within required timescales.
Working alongside experienced industry professionals, you'll gain valuable exposure to the estimating process and develop your understanding of construction methodologies, project costs and renewable energy infrastructure.
What You'll Be Doing
Your responsibilities will include:
Preparing detailed cost estimates for civil engineering projects
Analysing project specifications, drawings and requirements
Assisting with the preparation of competitive project bids
Reviewing construction methodologies and project requirements
Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain relevant cost information
Working closely with internal teams throughout the estimating process
Ensuring estimates are accurate and delivered within required timescales
Supporting the wider team with tender and bid preparation
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone with a strong foundation in civil engineering, construction or a related discipline, who is keen to develop a career within estimating.
The successful candidate will ideally have:
Previous experience in estimating or a related construction role
A background in civil engineering or construction
Strong analytical and numerical skills
Excellent attention to detail
An understanding of construction methodologies
Experience with estimating software
Strong communication and organisational skills
The ability to work effectively under pressure and to deadlines
Previous experience within renewable energy would be advantageous
