Assembly Timber Operative
Location: Ashford
Pay: £13.33 per hour
Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent
Hours: Monday – Thursday: 8:00am – 5:45pm, Friday: 8:00am – 4:15pm
Own transport is essential due to the remote location of the site.
We are currently recruiting for Assembly Timber Operative to join a well-established manufacturing business.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous experience using hand and power tools who enjoys practical, hands-on work and is looking for a role that could lead to a permanent position.
The role:
-
Using chop saws, pull saws and push saws
-
Measuring and cutting materials accurately
-
Using a range of hand and power tools, including drills, nail guns, screwdrivers and tape measures

Resizing, sanding and preparing materials for reuse
-
Following instructions and working to measurements
-
Ensuring work is completed accurately and to a good standard

Working as part of a busy production environment

Handling and moving materials as required
What we are looking for:
-
Previous experience using hand and power tools
-
Experience working in a production, manufacturing, assembly or similar practical environment

Good attention to detail
-
Ability to follow instructions and measurements accurately

Comfortable working in a physically demanding role

Able to lift and move heavier items safely
-
Comfortable wearing PPE, including dust masks

Reliable and committed to regular attendance

A practical, hands-on approach to work
