Location: Various locations in Sheffield
Pay: £17.18 per hour PAYE
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday–Friday
Working hours: 8:00am–4:00pm, with occasional cover until 5:30pm
Requirement: Full driving licence and access to transport essential
Two temporary opportunities available:
Post 1: Until April 2027 – based in the City Centre, with induction and work across various sites
Post 2: Until 26 March 2028 – City Centre
The Role
Our client is looking for experienced, practical and customer-focused Facilities Officers to support the day-to-day operation of its buildings.
You’ll help ensure their premises are safe, clean, compliant and welcoming, while coordinating facilities activities, dealing with contractors and building users and resolving day-to-day operational issues.
The role includes:
Supervising and coordinating facilities staff and activities
Carrying out site visits and building inspections
Monitoring cleaning, security, caretaking and other facilities services
Identifying defects and ensuring issues are followed through to resolution
Supporting health & safety and statutory building compliance
Responding to facilities issues and emergencies
Liaising with contractors, colleagues and building users
Monitoring performance and maintaining records
Supporting room set-ups and movement of furniture/equipment
Acting as a key holder and opening/locking sites when required
Supporting rotas and deployment of facilities staff
The full specification requires practical knowledge of statutory building requirements including fire regulations, asbestos, legionella and security systems, alongside risk assessment experience.
What We’re Looking For
You’ll ideally have previous experience within facilities management, estates, property, building management, caretaking or a similar operational environment.
You should be confident supervising or coordinating people, dealing with customers and contractors, using Word and Excel, managing competing priorities and working independently.
Experience within a public-sector or public-access building environment would be particularly relevant.
You must be a driver, as the role can involve working across different sites.
