Are you organised, detail-oriented and interested in building a career in procurement? Join our friendly and supportive Procurement team as a Procurement Assistant, where you'll gain hands-on experience, receive professional training and develop the skills needed for a successful long-term career.
Reporting to the Head of Procurement, you'll learn how to process purchase requests and orders, support supplier onboarding, coordinate contracts and produce reports, while helping the business secure the goods and services it needs in a timely and cost-effective way.
As part of the role, you'll complete a recognised CIPS procurement apprenticeship through an established training provider. We welcome applicants with a variety of qualifications and experience levels, and the most suitable programme will be agreed with you after joining. Depending on your previous learning and experience, this may be a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification.

What you’ll be doing

Process purchase requisitions and orders accurately and in line with company procedures.

Monitor and expedite purchase orders to support the timely delivery of goods and services.

Support the onboarding of new suppliers and maintain accurate supplier information within our business systems.Coordinate the contract review and sign-off process, from initial review through to signature.

Manage the day-to-day Procurement shared inbox and respond to queries from colleagues and suppliers.

Work with suppliers to resolve transactional issues and support the Accounts Payable team with invoice queries.

Maintain departmental trackers, processes, procedures and procurement data.

Help colleagues use the purchasing system correctly and follow purchasing policies and procedures.

Produce weekly KPIs, data and reports for the Procurement team.

Share knowledge, support the wider team and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
What we’re looking for

A good standard of English and maths.

A genuine interest in building a career in procurement and a willingness to learn.

Strong organisation skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.

A careful and accurate approach when working with data, systems and documentation.

Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

A positive, proactive approach, with the confidence to ask questions and take ownership.

Clear communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues and suppliers.

The ability to work independently and contribute effectively as part of a team.

Confidence using Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel.

Experience with Excel functions such as PivotTables and VLOOKUPs would be helpful, but training can be provided.
