School Attendance and Admissions Officer – Enfield
Location: Enfield, London
Salary: £15–£16 per hour
Contract: Full-time, long-term temporary
Hours: 35 hours per week, 39 weeks per year
Working hours: 8:30am–4:00pm, with some flexibility
Start date: 5 October 2026
Teach Now is seeking an experienced School Attendance and Admissions Officer to join a welcoming primary school in Enfield. This is a varied and important front-office position combining attendance monitoring, pupil admissions, safeguarding administration and general school support.
The role
As the School Attendance and Admissions Officer, you will:
• Monitor daily attendance and punctuality, including first-day calling and absence follow-ups.
• Maintain accurate pupil records and produce attendance reports.
• Liaise with parents, senior leaders and external agencies regarding attendance concerns.
• Manage Nursery, Reception and in-year admissions, including transfers and induction paperwork.
• Maintain records on Arbor and process Common Transfer Files.
• Support safeguarding administration and the secure transfer of confidential records.
• Provide a professional reception service to families, visitors and external professionals.
• Assist with school communications, community events and promotional activity.
About you
The successful School Attendance and Admissions Officer will have:
• Previous experience working in a primary school office.
• Experience managing school attendance and admissions processes.
• Strong knowledge of Arbor or a similar school MIS; experience with safeguarding and payment systems is desirable.
• Excellent organisation, accuracy and attention to detail.
• Confident communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with families.
• A clear understanding of confidentiality, data protection and safeguarding.
• A proactive, professional and supportive approach.
