CNC Recruitment is currently recruiting experienced and qualified Welders to work on the Hinkley Point C (HPC) project.
We are looking for skilled Welders with relevant site experience, appropriate welding qualifications and a strong commitment to quality and Health & Safety.

Site Requirements: Valid Site Safety Passport required
The Role
As a Welder, you will be responsible for preparing, positioning and welding components in accordance with engineering drawings, welding procedures, specifications and required quality standards.
You will be required to safely set up and operate welding equipment, carry out welding to the required specification and complete finishing and visual inspection of welds.
Key Responsibilities
Read and interpret engineering drawings, job specifications and welding instructions.
Prepare, position and secure components ready for welding.
Select the correct welding equipment and process for the materials and job requirements.
Set up welding equipment and associated consumables.
Safely connect gas supplies, hoses, power supplies and welding leads.
Adjust welding equipment to achieve the required settings.
Preheat materials where required.
Carry out welding to the required specification, quality standards and tolerances.
Clean, dress and finish completed welds.
Carry out visual inspections to ensure required quality standards are met.
Use oxy/fuel equipment for hand burning, heating and cutting where required.
Safely operate relevant workshop and site equipment.
Complete pre-use safety checks.
Follow all HPC, client, company and statutory Health & Safety requirements.
Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
Welding Experience Required
Candidates must have proven experience working with both:
Carbon Steel
Stainless Steel

Materials: Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel and any other materials
Pipe/Component Diameters: What diameter ranges have you welded?
Material Thickness: What thicknesses have you worked with?
Welding Positions: For example 1G, 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G and/or 6G
Welding Processes: MMA, MIG/MAG and/or TIG
Qualifications: Welding certificates and current qualifications
Site Experience: Nuclear, industrial, engineering, petrochemical or major construction projects
Experience & Qualifications
The successful candidate will ideally have:
An approved welding apprenticeship or relevant NVQ Level 3 qualification.
Minimum 2 years' practical welding/site experience.
Experience working with Carbon Steel and Stainless Steel.
Previous experience on a major industrial, engineering, nuclear, petrochemical or construction site.
Relevant welding qualifications, such as ASME Section IX or EN 287, where applicable.
Valid Site Safety Passport and relevant HPC/site-specific safety certification.
Proven ability to read engineering drawings and welding specifications.
Practical experience using relevant welding processes and equipment.
Experience operating overhead cranes and undertaking basic slinging activities is desirable.
Strong understanding of workplace Health & Safety.
