Location: Outskirts of Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk Salary: £14.50 – £15.80 per hour (£30,160 – £32,864 per annum DOE) Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm (1-hour unpaid lunch break), with overtime available Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Our client, a well-established family-run engineering manufacturer based on the outskirts of Bury St Edmunds, is looking to recruit an experienced Welder / Fabricator to join their growing team on a permanent basis.

Duties will include:

MIG welding and fabricating a range of steel components and assemblies.
Working with materials ranging from 1.5mm sheet metal through to heavy gauge box section and plate.
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to produce accurate fabrications.
Producing high-quality welds in line with company quality standards.
Using a variety of fabrication tools and workshop equipment.
Working closely with the production team to achieve daily and weekly manufacturing targets.
Carrying out quality checks to ensure all finished work meets specification.
Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
Following all Health & Safety procedures and company policies.

The ideal candidate will have:

Previous MIG welding and fabrication experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
The ability to produce clean, consistent welds on materials ranging from 1.5mm to 20mm.
Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
Good fabrication skills and the ability to work accurately with minimal supervision.
A strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality workmanship.
A positive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
TIG welding experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
