Construction Solicitor — Position Overview:
Build and develop an existing client portfolio while assisting the ongoing growth of the team
Work on a mixture of contentious and non-contentious matters, with the opportunity to lead on appropriate cases
Provide supervision to junior team members
Full-time, permanent role (37.5 hours per week) with flexibility on office location
An existing following and network would be beneficialKey Responsibilities of the Construction Solicitor:
Working as part of the Construction & Engineering team on contentious and non-contentious matters, both supporting and managing your own caseload
Providing construction support to the Commercial Property and Corporate teams
Attending networking events and proactively identifying business development opportunities
Raising the profile of the firm within the marketplace
Delivering individual targets and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction
Building strong relationships with clients and intermediaries
Developing technical and non-technical skills, including preparing e-briefings and delivering seminars and workshopsRequirements of the Construction Solicitor:
Relevant professional qualification or relevant industry experience
Strong legal skills, familiar with standard form contracts – JCT, NEC, FIDIC
A sound understanding of all stakeholders in construction and engineering projects
Experience in different forms of dispute resolution, including TCC court proceedings, arbitration, adjudication, expert determination and mediation
Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all levels
Working knowledge of case management systems and Microsoft Office
