Director of Cost Consultancy - National Service Line

Thomas Search are working on behalf of an established independent Built Asset, Engineering & Sustainability consultancy to appoint a Director of Cost Consultancy as part of its continued growth across the UK.
This is a senior, commercially focused opportunity for a MRICS Cost Consultant who wants more than delivery alone, with the opportunity to help shape and grow a national service line alongside an established senior leadership team.
You'll work with a sophisticated institutional and investment client base across industrial, logistics, retail, office, residential, PBSA and BTR, advising on high-profile projects and portfolios while helping to develop new relationships and opportunities.
You will:
Help lead and grow the Cost Consultancy service line nationally
Develop existing institutional and investment client relationships while opening new opportunities
Deliver hands-on, high-quality cost consultancy advice across major projects and portfolios
Support the development and execution of the service line's growth strategy
Drive consistency, best practice, quality control and innovation across the team
Coordinate business development, marketing, resourcing and knowledge sharing
Work collaboratively with wider Built Asset, Development and Engineering & Sustainability teams
Mentor and develop cost consultancy professionals across the business
Contribute directly to fee generation, profitability and overall service-line performance
You'll bring:
MRICS qualification and a strong Cost Consultancy background
Significant experience delivering end-to-end cost consultancy services
Strong commercial property experience, ideally across multiple sectors
An established network of institutional, investment or commercial property clients
Demonstrable business development and fee-generation capability
The credibility and confidence to operate at senior client and board level
A hands-on approach, comfortable combining technical delivery with leadership and growth
Strong communication, influencing and relationship-building skills
