Programme Finance & Compliance Advisor

We are looking for a Programme Finance & Compliance Advisor to provide specialist financial, compliance and risk management expertise that enables the charity to secure, deliver and successfully close institutional grants and commercial contracts.

Position: Programme Finance & Compliance Advisor
Location: Milton Keynes/hybrid
Hours: Full time, 36.5 hrs per week
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £42,750 – £45,563 depending on experience

About the Role
This role protects organisational resources, strengthens donor confidence and supports the sustainable delivery of programmes by ensuring funding opportunities are financially robust, risks are effectively managed and contractual obligations are met throughout the funding lifecycle.
You will work collaboratively with colleagues across the charity, consortium partners and donor organisations. The role requires strong professional judgement, attention to detail and the ability to influence and advise colleagues on complex financial and compliance matters.
You will balance regulatory requirements, donor expectations and organisational priorities while maintaining a solutions-focused approach. You will be expected to build strong working relationships, manage competing priorities and contribute to a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and responsible stewardship of resources.

This role is based at the Milton Keynes office. You will need to work from the office for a minimum of 3 days per week, with the option to work from home for the remaining 1 or 2 days. Please only apply if you live within a realistic commuting distance of Milton Keynes.
About You
To succeed in this role you will need:
Professional accountancy qualification, part-qualification or equivalent practical experience.
Significant experience supporting donor-funded grants and/or commercial contracts throughout the funding lifecycle, including experience developing pricing models and strategies, cost recovery approaches and value-for-money solutions to support funding applications and programme delivery
Strong financial management, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis skills.
Experience applying donor financial regulations and compliance requirements.
Experience undertaking due diligence, audit preparation and financial assurance activities.
Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
Ability to interpret complex financial information and provide practical advice.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
