Tradewind Recruitment is looking for a School Caretaker to support a welcoming primary school in the WA4 area of Warrington. This is a practical role suited to someone with good common sense, a friendly personality and a hands-on approach.
The school is looking for someone who can take responsibility for the day-to-day tasks that help the school operate safely and efficiently. Previous experience as a School Caretaker, Site Assistant, Maintenance Assistant or in a similar practical role would be useful, but attitude and reliability are just as important.
This role is to start immediately on an ongoing basis covering long-term illness.
As a School Caretaker, you will:
Open the school each morning and help ensure the site is ready for the school day
Refill toilet rolls and other essential supplies around the school
Put lunch tables out and assist with setting up different areas
Move furniture, equipment and other items around the school as required
Receive and organise deliveries
Carry out basic equipment and grounds checks
Put traffic safety barriers/signage out in the morning and bring them back in
Open and close gates for parents at various points throughout the day
Help with general maintenance and site-related tasks as needed
Support the school with practical jobs that arise during the dayThe hours can be flexible. The school can consider a split shift of 7.30am-11.00am and 2.15pm-6.00pm, but would also consider someone working from 7.30am onwards depending on availability.
This School Caretaker role would suit someone who is dependable, practical and comfortable getting stuck into whatever needs doing. You don't necessarily need extensive maintenance experience - the school is looking for someone with common sense, a positive attitude and a bit of personality who can work well around staff, pupils and parents.
