About the Role
We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Refueller Handler to join their team at RAF Valley, Anglesey.
This is an important operational role supporting busy flight operations and base maintenance activities. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient handling and refuelling of aircraft, ensuring all activities are carried out in accordance with relevant aviation, fuel handling, health and safety, security and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Safely handle and refuel aircraft in accordance with JIG regulations and relevant Health & Safety requirements.
Support aircraft positioning and refuelling activities to meet operational schedules.
Carry out aircraft refuelling using tanker vehicles, ensuring the correct quantity of fuel is delivered.
Support rotors-running refuelling operations where required.
Operate in accordance with applicable aviation, airport, fuel handling, H&S, HM Customs and company procedures.
Complete vehicle and equipment checks in line with quality control procedures.
Identify, record and report vehicle or equipment defects.
Report incidents and complete relevant documentation and reports.
Maintain high standards of safety, security and compliance at all times.
Work closely with flight operations and maintenance teams in a busy operational environment.
Essential Experience
Previous aircraft refuelling experience.
Experience in aircraft handling.
Strong awareness of Health & Safety requirements, particularly within aviation or hazardous materials environments.
Experience supporting busy flight operations.
Good level of numeracy and literacy.
Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Good communication skills.
Desirable Experience
Helicopter refuelling experience, including rotors-running refuelling.
Knowledge of UK military aviation.
Experience or knowledge of the Military Flying Training System (MFTS).
Essential Qualifications & Licences
Candidates must hold:
Full, valid driving licence with LGV Category C+E.
ADR Class 3 in tanks.
Valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (DQC/CPC).
A Digital Tachograph Driver Card would be desirable.
Additional Requirements
Ability to work shifts as part of the normal working pattern.
Occasional travel to Shawbury, Shropshire, may be required depending on operational requirements.
Strong commitment to safety, compliance and operational procedures.
Ability to work effectively within a highly regulated aviation environment.
