Compound Driver – Join Our Automotive Logistics Team
We are currently looking for reliable and motivated Compound Drivers to join our busy automotive operation based in Doncaster (Thorne). In this role, you will be responsible for safely moving and parking a wide range of vehicles within a large vehicle compound, ensuring all vehicles are accurately located, recorded and handled with the highest levels of care.
Working in a fast-paced environment, you will play a key role in supporting vehicle logistics by operating manual, automatic and electric vehicles, updating vehicle locations using bespoke IT systems and maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency throughout each shift.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely drive, move and park a wide range of vehicles within a busy automotive compound.
Accurately record and update vehicle locations using bespoke IT systems and handheld devices.
Carry out visual vehicle inspections and report any damage or defects before vehicle movement.
Ensure vehicles are parked correctly and prepared for storage, transport or onward distribution.
Handle premium and high-value vehicles with professionalism and care.
Work efficiently in an outdoor environment in all weather conditions.
Follow all company health and safety procedures and site operating standards.
Work independently while supporting the wider logistics team to achieve daily operational targets.
Maintain high standards of accuracy, productivity and vehicle security throughout each shift.
Demonstrate flexibility by working both day and night shifts as required.
Requirements:
Full UK Driving Licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
Confident driving manual, automatic and electric vehicles.
Previous driving or vehicle handling experience.
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
Basic IT skills with the ability to use handheld devices and computer systems.
Good communication skills and a strong attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable Skills & Competencies:
Experience working within an automotive compound, dealership or vehicle logistics environment.
Knowledge of vehicle inspections and damage reporting.
Strong parking and manoeuvring skills.
Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
Flexible approach to shift work and changing operational requirements.
Commitment to delivering high standards of quality, safety and customer service.
Additional Information:

Initial training will be completed on day shifts before moving to permanent night shifts.

Monday to Friday (Training Week): 8:15am – 5:00pm
