Overview
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Moulder to join a well-established foundry and heavy engineering business in Chesterfield. Working as part of a skilled production team, you will be responsible for producing moulds to specification, preparing materials, and supporting the manufacture of high-quality steel.
This role would suit an individual with previous foundry experience or someone with a strong manufacturing background looking to develop a career within a specialist engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities

Produce and assemble moulds in accordance with engineering drawings and production requirements.

Prepare moulding materials, patterns, cores, and associated equipment.

Carry out moulding operations to ensure they meet quality standards.

Inspect moulds and completed work for defects and report any quality concerns.

Assist with the pouring, shakeout, and finishing processes when required.

Operate foundry equipment and hand tools safely and efficiently.

Work closely with colleagues across production and maintenance teams to achieve daily production targets.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working area.

Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times.

Support continuous improvement initiatives within the foundry.
Skills & Experience Required

Previous experience as a Moulder, Foundry Operative, Production Operative, or within a heavy manufacturing environment.

Knowledge of moulding processes and foundry operations would be advantageous.

Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings.

Experience working with hand tools and industrial equipment.

Good attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.

Physically fit and comfortable working in a demanding industrial environment.
