An established specialist contractor within the passive fire protection sector is looking for a QA Inspector to join its technical and compliance team.
This role would suit someone with a strong background in fire stopping and compartmentation who understands installation standards, quality assurance and compliance requirements.
The Role
You will be responsible for carrying out quality assurance checks across passive fire protection works, supporting site teams, reviewing installer competency and helping ensure installations meet manufacturer, certification and industry requirements.
Responsibilities will include:
Carrying out QA inspections on fire stopping and compartmentation works
Identifying defects and non-compliant installations
Supporting FIRAS and wider certification requirements
Reviewing installer competency and signing off improvement works
Providing technical support and guidance to operational teams
Carrying out pre-start and site audits
Supporting product and system selection
Assisting with O&M manuals and project documentation
Delivering technical briefings and guidance to installation teams
Liaising with clients and internal teams around quality standards
Maintaining accurate records and compliance documentation
The Candidate
Ideally, you will have:
Experience within passive fire protection
A good understanding of fire stopping and compartmentation systems
Previous QA, inspection, technical or supervisory experience
Knowledge of passive fire installation standards and manufacturer requirements
Strong attention to detail
Good communication and client-facing skills
Experience working with site teams and installersExperience with the following would be advantageous:

IFE Level 2
CSCS
Onetrace or Bolster
Aconex or Viewpoint
Dalux, Navisworks or similar BIM / model viewing software
