THE ROLE
As an Experienced Workshop Controller / Quality Controller, you will play a key role in managing the daily workflow of the bodyshop while ensuring vehicles are repaired efficiently and meet the required quality standards before completion.
You'll work closely with technicians, VDA / Estimators and management to maintain workshop productivity, identify potential delays and ensure every vehicle progresses through the repair process effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
·Coordinate daily workshop activity and allocate repair work to technicians according to workload and priorities
·Monitor vehicle progress, productivity, repair times and overall workshop workflow
·Carry out quality control inspections to ensure repairs meet required manufacturer and industry standards
·Identify and communicate additional damage, repair requirements or potential delays
·Work closely with VDA / Estimators, Panel Technicians, MET Technicians and Paint Technicians to maintain efficient vehicle throughput
·Support technicians with technical and operational queries where required
·Ensure completed vehicles meet required quality, safety and presentation standards before handover
·Maintain high standards of Health & Safety, housekeeping, compliance and professional workshop practice
ABOUT YOU
We're looking for an experienced and quality-focused Workshop Controller / Quality Controller with strong accident repair knowledge and the ability to coordinate people, workflow and repair standards.
·Proven experience within an accident repair centre or automotive bodyshop
·Previous experience as a Workshop Controller, Quality Controller, Workshop Manager, Senior Technician or similar
·Strong understanding of Panel, MET and Paint repair processes
·Good knowledge of vehicle repair methods, vehicle construction and accident damage
·Experience managing workshop workflow, workloads, productivity and repair times
·Strong attention to detail with a genuine commitment to repair quality and safety
·Confident communicator with the ability to work effectively with technicians, management, customers and other stakeholders
·Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
·Ability to work effectively within a busy, fast-paced production environment
·Professional, reliable and motivated approach with strong leadership qualities
·IMI and/or ATA qualifications advantageous
·Full UK Driving Licence preferred
