NEOS Engineering are working with Murphy, one of the UK’s leading engineering and infrastructure businesses, who are looking for an experienced Welder to join their team.
Murphy operates across major infrastructure, construction and engineering projects throughout the UK, with an extensive fleet of heavy plant and machinery supporting its operations.
The Role
As a Welder, you’ll be responsible for the welding, fabrication, modification and repair of heavy plant, machinery and associated components.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone from a heavy engineering, plant, construction, quarrying or similar background who is comfortable carrying out both planned and reactive repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
Welding and fabrication of heavy plant and machinery
Carry out repairs to buckets, booms, attachments and structural components
MIG/MAG, MMA and/or flux-core welding
Fabricate components from engineering drawings
Identify damaged or worn components and complete effective repairs
Carry out modifications and strengthening work where required
Maintain high standards of workmanship and health & safety
The Candidate
Experienced Welder/Fabricator from a heavy engineering environment
Previous experience working on heavy plant, construction equipment or machinery is highly desirable
Strong MIG/MAG and/or MMA welding experience
Confident working with heavy-gauge steel
Able to work from engineering drawings
Relevant welding or fabrication qualifications desirable
