Job Title: Plumbing Apprentice
Location: Site Based predominantly within London and the South East (Travel to sites throughout the UK may be required)

We are looking for a motivated and reliable Plumbing Apprentice to join our team and develop the practical skills and technical knowledge required to become a qualified plumber.
Working alongside experienced plumbers and supervisors, you will gain hands-on experience across a range of plumbing installations, repairs, maintenance, and projects while completing your apprenticeship training.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys practical work, is willing to learn, and is looking to build a long-term career in the plumbing and mechanical services industry.
This position will mainly be site based within London, including our London office (Dawson House, 5 Jewry Street, London EC3N 2EX). You may be required to travel to sites throughout the UK (but mainly focused around the London/the South of England).
Key Responsibilities:
Assist qualified plumbers with the installation, maintenance, repair, and commissioning of heating and plumbing systems.
Learn to install Heat Interface Units (HIUs) in accordance with specifications, technical drawings, and project requirements.
Learn to commission HIUs, including testing, setting, balancing, and performance optimisation.
Gain experience in commissioning and testing associated heating and hot water systems.
Develop skills in fault finding, system diagnostics, and carrying out remedial works where required.
Learn to identify and resolve installation and commissioning issues efficiently and effectively.
Assist with the repair, replacement, and maintenance of heat distribution pipework, valves, fittings, and associated components.
Support preventative maintenance activities, reactive repairs, and upgrade works on District Heating Systems.
Learn to re-commission HIUs following repair or maintenance works to ensure optimum performance.
Read and interpret basic drawings, plans, specifications, and technical instructions.
Follow manufacturer installation and maintenance guidelines, as well as company procedures and industry standards.
Assist with the installation and maintenance of water supply, drainage, heating, and plumbing systems.
Support the fitting of pipes, valves, pumps, sanitaryware, fixtures, and other plumbing components.
Use hand tools, power tools, and plumbing equipment safely and correctly.
Complete commissioning records, test results, job reports, and service documentation accurately and on time.
Report defects, system issues, and any additional remedial works identified during installations or maintenance activities.
Maintain appropriate stocks of tools, equipment, and commonly used replacement parts.
Liaise professionally with customers, residents, clients, site teams, and other contractors when required.
Maintain high standards of workmanship, housekeeping, and customer service while minimising disruption to occupants.
Attend college, training courses, and apprenticeship programme requirements as scheduled.
Complete all required coursework, assessments, and practical training activities.
Develop an understanding of industry regulations, best practices, and technical standards.
Carry out any other reasonable duties appropriate to the role and stage of apprenticeship development.

As a Plumbing Apprentice, you will receive structured on-the-job training alongside your formal apprenticeship education. You will work under the guidance of qualified and experienced plumbers while developing the knowledge and practical competencies required for your qualification.
