Job Title: Street Lighting Operative
Location: Teesside
Pay Rate: £16.00/hr (PAYE) | £21.00/hr (Umbrella)
Contract Type: Full-time, Ongoing
We are currently recruiting experienced Street Lighting Operatives for an ongoing civil engineering contract across the Teesside region. You will be working on public lighting infrastructure, carrying out routine maintenance, installations, and repairs.
Key Responsibilities
Installing, maintaining, and repairing street lighting columns, lanterns, and associated cabling.
Carrying out electrical testing, fault diagnosis, and routine inspections.
Operating MEWP (Mobile Elevating Work Platforms) safely to perform high-level works.
Adhering to strict site safety guidelines, traffic management setups, and RAMS.
Working collaboratively with groundworks and civil crews on-site.
Requirements
Relevant street lighting qualification (e.g., C&G 236/2330/2365 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Electrical/Street Lighting).
Valid G39 certification.
Valid CSCS / ECS card.
IPAF (1b / 3b) certificate for MEWP operation.
Full UK Driving Licence (Category C1 or C / HGV is advantageous).
Previous experience working on local authority or highway lighting contracts.
