Position : Expeditor
Looking to speak with people from an engineering / manufacturing / logistics background who have experience working as expeditors, purchasing administrators, procurement assistants, trainee buyers, etc
Location : Brentwood, Basildon, Essex
Tenure : 12 months Fixed term contract initially
Sector : Engineering, manufacturing
Salary : £28,000
Hours : Monday to Thursday days flexitime, Friday midday finish
Hybrid : Initially office based whilst you settle in then moving to 2 days per week from home if wanted
Visa : No visa support is available, you MUST have the right to live and work in the UK
What does an expeditor do ?
An expeditor works with the Procurement / Purchasing Team offering assistance with making sure that all relevant import / export paperwork is in place, chasing suppliers and logistics companies to ensure that delivery is expected, and generally making sure that products are available when are where they are needed.
This role will see you working with a very well established engineering / manufacturing organisation that supplies technical products worldwide. Their business is growing at a very fast rate, and although this role is initially offered on a 12 month fixed term contract there is a high likelihood of it being made permanent in due course.
Previous experience of expediting, buying, purchase administration, procurement support, import or export administration or similar is preferred although common sense, attention to detail and team playing skills are more important.
You will work as part of a team dealing with manufacturers on a global basis, so excellent written and spoken English skills are essential.
Experience of MRP / ERP systems is beneficial
Experience of freight forwarders, and the import / export of goods to the USA / Canada along with customs requirements (B3 etc) would be perfect but training is available
