Quality Advisor – Civil Engineering & Utilities
Location: North West – Kearsley office with travel across the region
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000

J3A Recruitment is working with an established civil engineering and utilities contractor looking to appoint a Quality Advisor to support projects across the North West.
This is a hands-on quality position where you’ll work closely with project and site teams to drive a right first time approach, improve standards and ensure projects are delivered in line with client specifications, industry requirements and company management systems.
The position is based from the company’s Kearsley office, with regular travel across projects throughout the North West.
The core focus of the role is promoting good quality practice across the business while ensuring projects comply with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements.
What will you be doing?

Supporting project and site teams with quality standards and documentation

Carrying out internal, project and supply chain quality audits

Ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001

Reviewing client specifications and communicating requirements to project teams

Producing and reviewing Quality Plans and Inspection & Test Plans

Identifying and managing non-conformances
-
Carrying out root cause analysis and supporting corrective actions

Monitoring and reporting Quality KPIs
-
Supporting external audits and accreditation requirements
-
Driving continuous improvement across live projects
-
Promoting a strong “right first time” culture

Supporting effective project handovers between design and construction teams
The role also involves periodic systems reviews, supporting continuous improvement programmes and leading internal and supply chain audits.
What are we looking for?
We’re looking for somebody with experience working within civil engineering, utilities or infrastructure who is comfortable working directly with site and project teams.
Ideally, you’ll have:

Level 4 / HNC qualification in Quality or a related discipline

Previous experience within a civil engineering environment

Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001

Lead Auditor qualification or relevant auditing experience

Experience completing quality audits

Knowledge of root cause analysis and corrective actions

CSCS Card
-
Strong knowledge of quality processes and continuous improvement

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Full UK Driving Licence
Knowledge of NHSS 16 & 30, MURS, Lean principles or CQI membership would be advantageous.
