Customs Clearance Coordinator

We are currently recruiting for a Customs Clearance Coordinator to join the Operations team of an established and growing freight forwarding business.
The company is an established name within the Irish freight forwarding market, operating across general freight forwarding, container and groupage services, UK and European freight, air freight and the global beverage sector. Due to continued growth, particularly within customs clearance, they are looking to add an experienced customs professional to the team.
The Role
This position will have a strong focus on customs clearance, supporting the wider Operations team and ensuring import and export shipments are processed accurately, efficiently and in line with current customs requirements.
The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years' experience in customs clearance and/or the shipping industry, along with strong IT skills. Experience using customs data input systems such as Descartes or Thyme would be highly advantageous. Full internal and external training will be provided where required.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and process customs documentation for import and export shipments
Ensure shipments comply with relevant customs laws and regulations
Complete accurate HS/HTS classification and origin determination
Liaise with internal teams, clients and customs brokers to resolve queries and shipment holds
Generate and maintain accurate customs reports and data
Manage high volumes of documentation while maintaining a high level of accuracy
About You
Previous experience within freight forwarding or customs clearance is essential
Good knowledge of Irish, EU and international customs procedures
Strong IT skills, including experience with customs systems and MS Excel
Excellent attention to detail
Able to manage a high volume of documentation and work accurately under pressure
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
