About the Role
We are currently looking for a reliable and hardworking Shunter / Fueller / Cleaner to join a busy bus depot in Chelmsford.
The Shunter / Fueller / Cleaner will be responsible for supporting the day to day operation of the depot, including shunting vehicles, fuelling vehicles and carrying out cleaning duties.
The Shunter / Fueller / Cleaner position will initially be offered on a temporary basis for 3 weeks, with the potential for the position to continue for longer depending on performance and the needs of the depot.
This is a 40 hour per week position working from 5pm to 1am, Monday to Friday initially. There will also be the opportunity to pick up additional weekend overtime.
Key Responsibilities
• Shunting buses around the depot safely and efficiently
• Fuelling vehicles as required
• Carrying out interior and general cleaning duties on buses
• Ensuring vehicles are ready for service
• Supporting the general operation of the depot
• Following all site health and safety procedures
• Carrying out duties in a reliable and professional manner
Skills and Experience
• Full driving licence is essential
• Previous shunting experience is advantageous
• A PSV licence is advantageous
• Previous experience in vehicle cleaning, fuelling or a similar role would be beneficial
• Reliable and punctual with a good work ethic
• Comfortable working evening and night shifts
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexible and willing to undertake weekend overtime when available
