Bennett & Game Recruitment Ltd is delighted to be partnering with a growing accountancy practice near Keighley as they recruit for an experienced Cloud Bookkeeper to join their expanding bookkeeping department.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and experienced bookkeeper to manage a varied portfolio of small business clients within a supportive and growing practice. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate client records using cloud accounting software, preparing VAT returns and assisting the senior team with accounts preparation.
The practice is also open to considering candidates with a slightly more senior background, such as a Bookkeeper / Client Manager, with the potential for a higher salary package depending on experience.
Role Overview - Cloud Bookkeeper
Manage a varied portfolio of small business clients, taking responsibility for the inflow and processing of financial information through cloud accounting software.
Maintain accurate bookkeeping records for sole traders, limited companies and partnerships.
Liaise directly with clients by telephone and email regarding accounting information and queries.
Prepare and submit VAT returns accurately and within required deadlines.
Assist senior accountants with processing accounting entries through to trial balance.
Support the preparation of management accounts and other accounting matters as required.
Ensure client accounts are prepared accurately and to a consistently high standard.
Manage workload effectively, prioritising tasks and ensuring all deadlines are met.
Work collaboratively with the wider bookkeeping and accounts team, providing support where required.
Role Requirements - Cloud Bookkeeper
Previous experience in bookkeeping, ideally gained within a UK accountancy practice.
Excellent working knowledge of accounts preparation for sole traders, limited companies and partnerships.
Strong knowledge of accounting software, particularly Sage, Xero and QuickBooks.
Experience preparing and submitting VAT returns.
Ability to prepare accounts accurately and to a high standard.
Salary & Benefits - Cloud Bookkeeper
Salary: £28,000-£32,000, depending on experience
Working hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm, with a 1-hour lunch break
Working model: Fully office based
Holiday: 23 days annual leave
