on-Trent (Trentham, Westlands, Newcastle-under-Lyme) — in-home, across client

About us
We provide specialised, nature-led childcare and home education support to families in
Chester and Stoke-on-Trent, working exclusively within our clients' own homes. Our
approach blends Montessori principles with a forest school ethos — outdoor exploration,
hands-on learning, and unhurried, screen-free days — alongside organic, Ayurvedically-
informed nutrition and meal preparation. We're looking for carers who share our belief
that children thrive with patience, nature, real food, and genuine connection.
The role
As a Home-Based Childcare Provider, you'll become a trusted, familiar presence within
the families you work with — not a visiting professional, but something closer to an
extension of the household itself. Each day will look a little different depending on the
family and the child, but will typically include:
Leading Montessori-inspired activities within the child's home, using materials and
approaches suited to their age and stage
Taking children outdoors daily — to the garden, local woodland, parks or green
spaces — for forest school-style, weather-appropriate exploration and play
Preparing organic, seasonal meals and snacks in the family's kitchen, including baby
food and toddler menus tailored to Ayurvedic principles where required
Supporting daily routines, naps, and gentle boundaries in a calm, low-screen
environment
Where relevant, supporting home education activities alongside parents, drawing on
Montessori and nature-led learning principlesBuilding genuine, warm relationships with children and families, adapting to each
household's own rhythms and values
Covering one-off, ad hoc and occasional bookings as well as regular placements,
with the flexibility to settle into a new home and routine quickly and confidently
What we're looking for
Experience working with children aged 0–11, ideally within a Montessori, forest
school, nanny, or home childcare setting
A genuine passion for outdoor, nature-based learning in all weathers
Some knowledge of or willingness to train in nutritionally considered, organic and
Ayurvedic food preparation for babies and young children
A calm, patient, nurturing manner, with excellent communication skills and the ability
to build trust quickly with both children and parents
A relevant childcare qualification (e.g. Level 3 in Early Years, Montessori diploma, or
equivalent) is desirable but not essential for the right candidate
An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one), current paediatric first aid
certification (or willingness to complete one), and full safeguarding awareness
Flexibility and discretion, as you'll be working within the privacy of family homes and
will be trusted with sensitive routines and personal information
What we offer
Competitive hourly rates, reflecting your experience and qualifications
A mix of regular and ad hoc bookings to suit your preferred working pattern
Ongoing training in Montessori practice, forest school delivery, and Ayurvedic
nutrition for children
The opportunity to build meaningful, long-term relationships with the families you
work with
A genuinely values-led role, working with families who share our commitment to
natural, wholesome, screen-free childhoods
How to applyPlease send your CV along with a short covering note telling us about your experience
with children, your approach to outdoor and nature-based care, and why our philosophy
resonates with you. We look forward to hearing from you.
