Contractor Safety Officer
We are partnering with our client, a respected organisation within the Aerospace and FMCG sectors, to recruit a Contractor Safety Officer to support site safety operations across multiple locations, including Bristol and Chester. Joining our client's team on a contract basis, you'll play a key role in driving compliance with UK health and safety regulations, leading audits, and promoting a strong safety culture through effective communication and collaboration.
Key Skills & What You'll Be Doing
Site Safety Operations - Oversee day-to-day safety activities across different sites, ensuring standards are consistently maintained.
Auditing - Conduct thorough site audits, identify hazards, and implement corrective actions to reduce risk.
NEBOSH - Apply your NEBOSH-level health and safety expertise to align practices with UK legislation and best practice.
First Aid - Provide first-line response and support in the event of incidents, enhancing on-site emergency preparedness.
Excellent Communication Skills - Engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels to influence safety behaviours and outcomes.
Presenting Skills - Deliver toolbox talks, site inductions and safety briefings that are clear, engaging, and impactful.
Teamwork & Independence - Work collaboratively with our client's team while being able to operate autonomously when required.
Documentation Standards - Prepare and maintain high-quality safety documentation, reports, and records.
Strong IT Competency - Use digital tools and systems to track audits, actions, and safety performance.
Stakeholder Management - Build strong relationships with site teams and management to embed a culture of safety.
FMCG / Aerospace Experience - Prior exposure to these sectors will help you quickly understand operational risks.
Pay: Circa £400 a day plus travel expenses on days visiting other sites for audits. If you're proactive, adaptable, and ready for an immediate start, we'd be keen to discuss this opportunity with you.
