The Junior Buyer will join a high-performing and supportive team of Buyers, with responsibility for operational purchasing tasks. These could include; raising purchase orders, expediting, updating MRP/ERP systems with supplier information, lead times and pricing.
The role would suit an experienced administrator or someone looking to develop their career within a purchasing or supply chain environment.
Specific duties of the Junior Buyer include:
Raising Purchase Orders for both direct materials and components for manufacturing and indirect items
Track orders, shipment dates and delivery confirmation in MRP systems
Expediting of purchase orders through to receipt
Supplier liaison, communication and relationship building both with UK and international partners
Support inbound logistics, supplier returns etc.
Maintain procurement department data in MRP and reports/KPIs relating to supplier performance
Work with procurement team to improve and refine procurement processes
Junior Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:
Previous experience working within a manufacturing or engineering business
Experience in a purchasing, logistics, supply chain, administration or manufacturing role
Previous supplier liaison and experience of placing purchase orders
Previous exposure to an MRP or ERP system is advantageous, and previous MS Excel experience essential
Excellent communication and relationship building skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
