About the Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer job
As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you'll play a key role in maintaining and improving the company’s manufacturing operations, ensuring equipment runs safely, efficiently, and reliably.
This is a hands-on role where you'll combine fault-finding expertise with proactive maintenance and continuous improvement activities to keep the manufacturing operation performing at its best.
Key tasks

Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and responding to equipment breakdowns to maximise production uptime.

Diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical faults across production machinery, utilities, and site services.

Identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities to enhance reliability, performance, safety, and efficiency.

Supporting engineering projects and equipment installations as required.

Ensuring full compliance with food safety, quality, hygiene, environmental, and health & safety standards.
About You
The successful candidate ideally shall have relevant engineering qualifications and experience – ideally with an electrical bias.

Experience and knowledge of PLC fault finding and diagnostic skills.

Strong analytical, planning, coordination, and communication skills.

Effective at building workplace relationships.

Results-driven with experience in FMCG / food manufacturing operations.

Resilient and flexible, able to work rotating shifts, and fully aware of customer expectations and quality standards.

The Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer job is based in Wigan and is paying up to £45,000 (including shift premiums and overtime) according to your experience.
The extensive benefits package includes 21 days holiday plus bank holidays, pension, Investment in People and Training, Wellbeing and Engagement Programmes and company sickness pay.
The role is based on three rotating shifts:

Monday to Friday / 6am to 2pm - for 2 weeks

Monday to Thursday / 1.30pm to 10pm - for 2 weeks, Friday / 9am to 3pm - 1 week

Sunday to Thursday / 10pm – 6am - 1 week only
The company is based in Wigan and is commutable from Bolton, Chorley, Skelmersdale, Warrington, Manchester and Liverpool.
