Working Hours
Monday to Thursday: 6:00am to 2:30pm
Friday: 6:00am to 11:30am
Total Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Job Purpose
To operate manufacturing machinery and assemble ironing boards and air dryers in a safe, efficient, and quality-focused environment. The role involves ensuring production targets are met, maintaining high product standards, and supporting continuous improvement within the production process.
Key Responsibilities
Machine Operation
Set up, operate, and monitor production machinery used in the manufacture of ironing boards and air dryers.
Ensure machines are running efficiently and safely.
Conduct routine machine checks and report any faults or maintenance requirements.
Follow production schedules and meet daily output targets.
Maintain accurate production records where required.
Assembly Work
Assemble components and finished products according to specifications and work instructions.
Use hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment safely and effectively.
Inspect parts and finished products to ensure quality standards are met.
Package completed products ready for dispatch.
Assist with product rework when required.
Quality & Safety
Follow all company health and safety procedures.
Wear and maintain appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Identify and report defects, hazards, or quality issues promptly.
Maintain a clean and organised work area in accordance with housekeeping standards.
Support quality control processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
General Duties
Work collaboratively with colleagues and supervisors.
Assist in other production areas as required.
Participate in training and development activities.
Carry out any other reasonable duties required by management.
Skills and Experience
Essential
Previous experience in a manufacturing, assembly, or production environment.
Ability to follow work instructions and quality standards.
Good attention to detail.
Reliable and punctual.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
Desirable
Experience operating manufacturing machinery.
Experience within metalwork, appliance manufacturing, or assembly production.
