An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Panel Wiring Technician to join a leading engineering and R&D team developing advanced hydraulic testing systems for global customers.
This is a practical, workshop-based role where you will be responsible for assembling and building electrical control panels, enclosures, sub-assemblies and interconnecting cables for special-purpose equipment.
As an electrical panel wiring technician you will have a good understanding of electrical/electronic components, and the ability to work confidently from wiring drawings and schematics while maintaining a very high manufacturing standard.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Assembly & Wiring

Assemble electro-mechanical systems and sub-assemblies from drawings and build procedures

Build electrical control panels and enclosures from scratch, including mechanical assembly

Drill, tap and fit internal panel components including relays, terminal blocks and power supplies

Carry out electrical crimping, soldering, wiring and looming to a high standard

Assemble cables, including crimping connectors, cable termination, looming and labelling

Work accurately from electrical/electronic drawings, schematics and engineering documentation
Testing & Quality

Inspect and test completed electrical assemblies as required

Conduct final electrical/electronic inspections and complete associated documentation

Maintain high standards of workmanship, accuracy and attention to detail

Work to established manufacturing procedures and quality requirements
Installation & Customer Support

Support installation and commissioning activities at customer sites when required

Represent the company professionally when working with customers

Be willing to travel occasionally, including potentially internationally
Qualifications & Experience

Experience of panel wiring and/or machine wiring

Basic electrical knowledge with the ability to read and work from electrical schematics and engineering drawings

Experience wiring control panels/boxes, including crimping, soldering and terminating

Experience of electrical loom/harness assembly and soldering to a high standard

Practical experience within an engineering, manufacturing or electro-mechanical environment

Apprenticeship or equivalent practical/educational background
