Geotechnical Engineer
Location: Manchester
Salary: £35,000 - £36,000
A specialist geotechnical consultancy is looking for a Geotechnical Engineer to join their Manchester team. The consultancy works on a range of technically challenging projects, offering the opportunity to work closely with experienced engineers and develop a strong technical grounding across the full project lifecycle.
The Role:
Involvement in ground investigation and site-based activities
Interpretation of ground investigation data and preparation of technical reports
Geotechnical design including foundations, retaining structures and slopes
Ground movement and stability assessments
Preparation of geotechnical specifications and design documentation
Liaising with clients, contractors and other consultants
Undertaking site visits and providing technical input during construction
Working across a varied portfolio of infrastructure and development projectsThe Candidate:
Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology
Previous experience within a geotechnical consultancy
Good understanding of ground investigation and geotechnical design
Strong technical and report writing skills
Comfortable working on site as well as in the office
Experience with geotechnical software would be beneficial
Ideally working towards Chartered Engineer/Geologist statusThis is a strong opportunity for a Geotechnical Engineer looking to join a small specialist consultancy, with the chance to gain varied project experience, work closely with senior technical staff and progress quickly within the business
