This well-established practice, with over 25 years of industry experience, is entering an exciting period of growth. The team specialises in leisure and commercial projects, delivering both new-build and refurbishment schemes for well-known brands and clients.
Projects are managed from initial concept through to planning, technical design, construction and completion on site, giving the successful candidate the opportunity to take real ownership of projects throughout the full project lifecycle.
The Role
As an Architectural Technician / Designer, you will:

Interpret client briefs and develop feasibility studies, including internal layouts and site plans

Produce detailed drawing and technical packages across all project stages

Take projects from concept design through planning, building regulations and construction drawings through to completion on site

Work closely with contractors and other project stakeholders to support the successful delivery of projects

Attend site inspections, project meetings and contract meetings as required

Review construction progress and help resolve technical and design issues that arise on site

Liaise closely with interior designers, structural engineers, project managers and contractors

Ensure designs and technical information are practical, compliant and suitable for construction

Essential Skills & Experience

Proven experience working as an Architectural Technician or Designer

Practical experience delivering projects on site, with a good understanding of the construction process from technical design through to completion

Experience working on leisure and commercial projects

Strong working knowledge of UK Building Regulations, particularly Parts B, L and M within the commercial sector

Proficiency in AutoCAD

Ability to produce accurate, detailed technical and construction drawing packages

Good understanding of construction detailing and how designs translate into buildable solutions

Confident communicating with contractors, consultants and other project stakeholders
Desirable (but not essential)

Experience carrying out site inspections and attending contract meetings

Experience working directly with contractors during the construction phase

Ability to undertake simple measured building surveys

Experience working across refurbishment as well as new-build projects
