Hays HR is delighted to be partnering with a successful and growing manufacturer to recruit an experienced HR Officer (Advisor) for their Warrington operation. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established business with an international presence, employing approximately 280 people across multiple locations in the UK and Europe.
Supporting a manufacturing site of around 110 employees, reporting to the Group People & Talent Director, you will play a pivotal role in delivering a high-quality people service (operating in a stand-alone capacity on-site). This is a true generalist position offering exposure to the full employee lifecycle, employee relations, people projects, and HR systems development.
The Role
As HR Officer, you will provide expert guidance and support to managers and employees across a broad range of people matters, including:
Providing advice and guidance on employment law, HR policies, procedures and best practice
Managing attendance and absence cases, including short and long-term absence, return-to-work processes and attendance reviews
Leading employee relations cases from start to finish, including disciplinary, grievance and performance management processes
Supporting managers with complex people matters and organisational change initiatives
Managing recruitment activity across a range of positions, including drafting adverts, liaising with agencies, coordinating interviews and onboarding new starters
Supporting talent development, succession planning and employee engagement initiatives
Maintaining accurate employee records and ensuring data integrity across HR systems
Producing HR reports, KPIs and people metrics to support business decision-making
Supporting HR projects and contributing to the development and implementation of people policies and procedures
Working closely with Payroll and Finance to ensure accurate employee information and system updates
Supporting ongoing HRIS and time and attendance system improvements
Contributing to the delivery of the wider People Strategy and continuous improvement initiativesAbout You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
CIPD qualification (or working towards)
Previous experience within a HR Advisor or equivalent generalist HR role
Strong employee relations experience, including disciplinary and grievance management
Experience supporting operational or manufacturing environments would be highly advantageous
Excellent knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice
Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality
Experience using HR and time & attendance systems
Strong Excel and reporting skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
A practical, common-sense approach and the ability to work independentlyWhat's on Offer?
