We're recruiting for an exciting opportunity with a successful and expanding retailer in the Chelmsford area. This is far more than a traditional administration role. You'll become an integral part of the business, supporting stock management, supplier relationships, reporting, e-commerce administration, and operational processes in a fast-paced and ever-evolving environment.
This position is perfect for someone who loves working with spreadsheets, systems, and data, while also enjoying variety and responsibility in their day-to-day role.
The Opportunity
Working closely with the Merchandiser and wider management team, you will be responsible for ensuring business-critical information is accurate, up to date, and readily available to support commercial decision-making.
You'll play a vital role in analysing data, managing stock information, maintaining systems, and ensuring the smooth flow of information across the business.
Key Responsibilities

Creating, maintaining, and analysing reports using Excel.

Producing management information to support key business decisions.

Monitoring stock levels and supporting forecasting activities.

Reviewing replenishment recommendations and placing supplier orders.

Managing supplier communications and coordinating deliveries.

Maintaining accurate product, stock, pricing, and supplier data across multiple systems.

Creating and updating product information within internal systems and Shopify.

Supporting new product launches, promotions, and seasonal campaigns.

Monitoring competitor pricing and market activity.

Troubleshooting data discrepancies and ensuring information accuracy.

Liaising with internal departments to ensure systems and records remain current and reliable.

Providing essential administrative and operational support across the department.
About You
We're looking for a detail-focused and tech-savvy individual who thrives on working with data and systems.
To be successful, you'll have:
✔ Strong Excel skills, including working confidently with formulas, reporting, data analysis, and large datasets
✔ Excellent IT skills and the ability to learn and navigate multiple business systems quickly
✔ Previous administration, operations, or commercial support experience
✔ Outstanding attention to detail and a passion for data accuracy
✔ Strong organisational and time-management skills
✔ Confidence interpreting numbers and producing meaningful reports
✔ A proactive, solutions-focused approach
✔ The ability to manage multiple priorities within a busy environment
✔ Experience within retail, merchandising, stock control, supply chain, e-commerce, or a commercial office environment would be highly advantageous
✔ A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle due to location

Working Hours
Monday: 8:00am - 5:30pm
Tuesday - Thursday: 8:30am - 5:30pm
Friday: 8:00am - 4:30pm / 5:00pm Finish
