Sheet Metal Fabrication & Tooling
Location: Preston / Fulwood
Salary: From £40,000, with flexibility for the right candidate
Hours: Monday to Friday, 39.5 hours - 8am till 5pm - Friday 4.30pm finish
Contract: Permanent, Days
We are recruiting for an experienced Sheet Metal Fabricator to join a well-established manufacturing business.
Although the role sits within R&D, previous R&D experience is not essential. The key requirement is strong hands-on sheet metal fabrication experience, combined with the ability to work from engineering drawings and manufacture components from scratch.
Duties
Manufacture sheet metal tooling, jigs, fixtures and prototype components
Work from engineering and mechanical drawings
Cut, bend and form sheet metal
Operate press brake and guillotine machinery
Carry out MIG and TIG welding only when needed
Drill, grind and finish fabricated components
Modify and improve existing tooling
Build components and tools from scratch
Support testing and proving of new tooling
Identify practical engineering issues and problem-solve

Tank and Vehicle Fabricator
Skilled FabricatorYou should have strong sheet metal skills, be confident reading engineering drawings and have experience with bending, forming, press brake work and welding.
Previous tooling or rotational moulding experience is not essential, as training can be provided.
The ideal candidate will be practical, proactive and confident working independently on bespoke fabrication projects.
