Basic Salary: £45,000-£50,000 per annum
Additional Earnings: Paid travel time, paid overtime, standby allowance and call-out payments

Marmon Lift Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Lift Service Engineer to join an established independent lift company, covering a compact service route between Portsmouth and Southampton.
This is an excellent opportunity for a capable engineer with strong hydraulic lift experience to join a longstanding business with a loyal team and a reputation for high-quality servicing and repairs. The position offers an attractive basic salary, additional paid travel and overtime, and a manageable 1-in-4 call-out rota.
Locations Considered: Portsmouth, Southampton, Fareham, Gosport, Havant, Waterlooville, Eastleigh and surrounding areas.
The Lift Engineer Role
Carry out planned preventative maintenance across a portfolio of passenger and goods lifts.
Service and maintain hydraulic lift equipment throughout the Portsmouth-to-Southampton route.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults accurately.
Complete minor repairs and adjustments during service visits where possible.
Attend breakdowns and restore equipment to service safely and efficiently.
Participate in a 1-in-4 standby rota, with out-of-hours call-outs typically rare.
Identify worn or defective components and report additional repair requirements.
Work across lift equipment from a variety of manufacturers.
Ensure all work complies with current lift regulations, safety standards and company procedures.
Complete service documentation accurately and provide clear updates to customers and the service team.
Ideal Lift Engineer Candidate
Strong experience servicing, maintaining and repairing hydraulic lifts.
Previous experience working on passenger and goods lift equipment.
NVQ Level 3 in Lift Engineering, or an equivalent qualification, is preferred.
Strong hydraulic, mechanical and electrical fault-finding abilities.
Confident working independently across different lift systems and manufacturers.
Able to manage a local service route and workload effectively.
Willing to participate in a 1-in-4 standby and call-out rota.
Professional communication skills when working on customer sites.
A full UK driving licence is essential.
