Food Hub Assistant (Part-Time, 8 Hours per Week)

Are you passionate about helping people and making a difference in your local community? We’re looking for a friendly and proactive Food Hub Assistant to support the day-to-day running of our Food Hub in Harold Hill.
Working alongside the Food Hub Supervisor, you'll help deliver a welcoming and efficient service, support customers accessing affordable food, manage stock, assist with deliveries, and signpost people to additional support services.
Key Responsibilities

Welcome and support Food Hub customers

Assist with food referrals and community support

Handle, store and distribute food safely

Support stock control, deliveries and cash handling

Maintain accurate records and uphold health & safety standards
About You

Experience in a customer-facing role (retail, hospitality, warehouse or similar)

Strong communication and organisational skills

Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office

Friendly, reliable and community-focused

Food hygiene knowledge and a full UK driving licence are desirable
Working Pattern

Part-time, 8 hours per week

Flexible working across Tuesdays and Thursdays

Typical shifts: 9am to 4pm (Food Hub open 1pm to 4pm)
