We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Director of Technology to join a growing, technology-led organisation operating across the European digital services landscape.
Reporting directly to the CEO, this is a highly visible leadership role with responsibility for defining and delivering the organisation's technology strategy, architecture and operating model. This position offers the opportunity to influence business direction, shape technology investment decisions and lead the evolution of a critical digital platform supporting users across multiple European markets. This is not a traditional IT leadership role. The successful candidate will act as the senior technology leader within the business, balancing strategic thinking with a pragmatic, hands-on approach to problem solving and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Define and deliver the organisation's technology strategy and roadmap.
Own the overall technology architecture and ensure scalability, resilience and security across all systems.
Act as the primary technology advisor to the CEO and executive leadership team.
Review and evaluate the existing technology landscape, identifying opportunities for improvement and optimisation.
Manage and challenge external technology vendors, delivery partners and managed service providers.
Lead supplier governance, contract reviews, service performance management and technology procurement activities.
Assess the effectiveness of current outsourced technology functions and make recommendations regarding future operating models.
Oversee technology budgets, investment decisions and vendor spend.
Provide strategic oversight of the organisation's Dynamics 365 CE environment and wider business systems.
What We're Looking For
Proven experience operating as a Technology Director, Head of Technology, CTO or similar senior technology leadership role.
Strong background in technology strategy, architecture and digital transformation.
Significant experience managing external technology vendors and outsourced delivery partners.
Demonstrated experience owning technology budgets, contracts and investment decisions.
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to challenge suppliers and ensure value for money.
Experience operating in fast-paced, entrepreneurial or growth-focused environments.
Ability to communicate effectively with executive leadership and non-technical stakeholders.
Knowledge of cloud technologies, modern digital platforms and enterprise applications.
Exposure to Dynamics 365 CE or similar CRM platforms would be advantageous.
A pragmatic, hands-on leadership style with the ability to operate comfortably in lean organisations
