Caretaker
Location: Maesteg
Pay Rate: £14.32 per hour
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm (30-minute unpaid break)
Start Date: ASAP
Additional Information Enhanced DBS Check required unless you are on the DBS Update Service. Manpower covers the cost of the Enhanced DBS check.

Manpower is recruiting on behalf of a well-established public sector organisation for a reliable and proactive Caretaker to join their team on a temporary basis.
This is a hands-on role responsible for ensuring premises are maintained in a safe, secure, and operational condition. The successful candidate will take pride in maintaining a welcoming environment and carrying out a variety of caretaking, maintenance, and health and safety duties.
Key Responsibilities
Opening, closing, and securing the premises
Conducting weekly and monthly safety checks, including:
Fire alarms
Fire doors
Fire extinguishers
Emergency lighting
Carrying out water flushing procedures for Legionella prevention
Waste collection and disposal
Undertaking minor repairs and general maintenance tasks
Providing access and support to contractors when required
Ensuring the site remains safe, clean, and compliant with health and safety requirements
Requirements
Previous caretaking, facilities, maintenance, or site support experience
Basic DIY and maintenance skills
Good understanding of health and safety practices
Ability to work independently and manage daily responsibilities
Reliable, trustworthy, and professional approach to work
Strong communication and organisational skills
