Cut & Crease Operator
£34,600 to £39,000 plus benefits
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Cut & Crease Operator to join a well-established print and packaging company based in the Huntingdonshire area. This is a permanent opportunity to join a busy production environment where you will be responsible for producing high-quality printed packaging products to customer specifications.
Working as a Cut & Crease Operator, you will be joining an experienced production team within a successful business that provides specialist print and packaging solutions to a wide range of customers. This position would suit someone with previous cutting, creasing or die-cutting experience who is looking for a stable, long-term opportunity within the print and packaging industry.
Main Responsibilities for the Cut & Crease Operator:

Setting and operating cut and crease machinery

Setting cutting and creasing accurately for each production job

Producing work in accordance with job specifications and production requirements

Carrying out machine make-readies and adjustments

Checking printed materials for quality, accuracy and consistency

Monitoring machinery throughout production runs

Identifying and resolving minor machine or production issues

Ensuring production targets and deadlines are achieved

Minimising material waste wherever possible

Completing relevant production and quality documentation

Carrying out routine machine checks and basic maintenance

Maintaining a clean and safe working environment

Working closely with colleagues across the print and production departments
Skills/Experience for the Cut & Crease Operator:
-
Previous experience working as a Cut & Crease Operator or within a similar print finishing position

Experience operating cut and crease or die-cutting machinery
-
Previous experience within the print, packaging, carton or print finishing industry

Good understanding of cutting and creasing processes

Experience working with printed board, cartonboard or similar materials

Ability to accurately set machinery and work from job specifications

Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work

Good mechanical and problem-solving skills

Ability to work effectively within a busy production environment

Reliable with a good attitude towards health & safety and quality standards
Hours of work for the Cut & Crease Operator:
Days and Nights shift pattern 12 hour (averages a 40 hour working week)
Benefits for the Cut & Crease Operator:
Up to 30-minute paid break during shift
Overtime paid at 1.25 once contractual hours worked – premium increases to 1.5 overtime rate, once 48 hours per week is exceeded
