Are you organised, reliable and good with an excel spreadsheet?
I am currently recruiting on behalf of a business who are looking for an Engineering Stores / Stock Assistant to support a 4 months fixed term - stock organisation and inventory project.
You don't need to be an engineer or have extensive technical knowledge. We're looking for someone who is methodical, comfortable working through large quantities of stock and takes pride in getting the details right.
The role
You'll be helping to reorganise and accurately record stock held within the site's engineering stores. Around 70% of the inventory consists of smaller components such as bearings, nuts, bolts, fasteners and sensors.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Unpacking, sorting and organising engineering spare parts
Accurately counting stock and recording quantities
Updating Excel spreadsheets or handwritten stock records
Labelling and maintaining an organised stores environment
Handling and moving stock boxes weighing up to 20kg
Working alongside the Engineering team, who can assist with identifying unfamiliar parts
What we're looking for
You could come from a stores, warehouse, stock control, goods-in or inventory background. Previous experience within engineering would be useful, but it isn't essential.
We're particularly interested in people with experience in:
Stock counting or inventory auditing
Engineering stores or spare parts
Goods-in / receiving
Warehouse picking, packing or kitting
Stock control or stores administration
More importantly, you'll need to be reliable, organised and accurate, with good basic numeracy and the patience to work systematically through a high volume of components.
Advanced IT skills aren't required. If you're comfortable using basic Excel, great; if not, stock information can also be recorded manually.
As you'll be working within a food manufacturing environment, you'll need to follow all site Health & Safety, food hygiene and PPE requirements.
Interested?
This is a great opportunity if you're looking for a Monday-to-Friday temporary position where you can get stuck into a clearly defined project, with the potential for the assignment to extend.
If you or anyone you may know could be open to this role, feel free to contact me at or give me a call on (phone number removed)
