The Role

Will be working day shift.

You will inspect incoming raw materials, components, fabricated parts and finished goods against purchase orders, drawings, specifications and approved samples.

Verify quantities, part numbers, material grades, dimensions, condition and packaging.

Carry out visual, dimensional and functional inspections using appropriate measuring and testing equipment.

Review supplier documentation, including certificates of conformity, material certificates, inspection reports and test certificates.

Record inspection results accurately within the company’s quality or ERP system.

Identify, label, segregate and quarantine non-conforming or damaged goods.

Raise non-conformance reports and communicate quality issues to Purchasing, Production, Engineering, Stores and suppliers.

Support investigations into supplier defects and help determine corrective and preventive actions.

Monitor recurring supplier-quality problems and contribute to supplier performance reviews.

Ensure inspection and measuring equipment is correctly calibrated and maintained.

Release approved materials into stock or production and prevent rejected materials from being used.

Maintain traceability of materials, batch numbers, serial numbers and inspection records.

Support internal and external quality audits when required.

Assist with continuous-improvement initiatives to reduce incoming defects, production delays, waste and rework.
The Person

Experience in a similar role with in stores quality.

Ability to use quality measuring tools/equipment.
-
Must be organised, accurate and self-motivated.
-
Engineering or manufacturing experience essential.
-
Analytical thinking combined with effective communication, influencing and negotiation skills.
