We’re looking for an outstanding Technical Trainer to join a global automotive company's friendly and very busy After Sales team in Birmingham and play a key role in developing the technical capability of the UK dealer network.
This is an opportunity to work with a global automotive brand, delivering engaging technical and product training across an evolving range of vehicle technologies.

If you’re an experienced automotive Technical Trainer looking for your next challenge, we’d love to hear from you.
Equally, if you’re an experienced automotive technician who has the technical expertise, credibility and passion for developing others but hasn’t yet made the move into training, this role can provide the training and facilitation development to help you make that transition.

What will you be doing?
As a Technical Trainer, you'll become an important technical ambassador for the brand, helping develop the knowledge, skills and confidence of technicians across the UK dealer network.
Based at thededicated training facility in Birmingham, you'll deliver a mixture of technical, product and non-technical training, combining classroom learning with practical and workshop-based activities.
You'll:

Deliver technical training programmes to the dealer network.

Deliver product and After Sales training as required.

Facilitate classroom, practical and workshop-based learning.

Demonstrate diagnostic procedures, repair techniques and vehicle systems.

Pilot new technical training courses and contribute to their development.

Provide technical input into online and video-based learning.

Contribute to the development of the quarterly After Sales training curriculum.

Help ensure technical training content remains accurate and aligned with the latest vehicle technology.

Work with Engineering, Diagnostics and Technical Publications to keep training content up to date.

Provide technical subject matter expertise across the wider business.

Work collaboratively with Technical Support, Parts, Warranty and Customer Service teams.

Contribute to the maintenance and development of diagnostic and technical information.

Maintain and develop technical training equipment and tools.

Help maintain a safe, clean and professional training environment.

Promote and adhere to the highest standards of health and safety.

If you're already working as a Technical Trainer, Automotive Trainer, Aftersales Trainer, Diagnostic Trainer or Product Trainer, this could be an excellent opportunity to take your experience to a global automotive brand.

What we're looking for

Strong automotive technical knowledge and experience.

Excellent diagnostic capability.

Experience of modern vehicle technologies.

IMI Level 3 High Voltage qualification or equivalent would be advantageous..

Level 4 High Voltage experience would be advantageous but is not essential.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The ability to explain technical information clearly and confidently.

The ability to engage different audiences and adapt your communication style.

Strong presentation and interpersonal skills.

Good IT skills, particularly Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

The flexibility to travel within the UK and occasionally overseas.

The opportunity
Role: Technical Trainer – Automotive After Sales
Location: Birmingham, with occasional UK field-based work
Salary: Circa £45,000 per annum + bonus
Contract: Permanent
The role is primarily based at the Birmingham training facility, with travel within the UK and occasional overseas travel where required.
Flexibility is important, including the ability to travel at relatively short notice.
Normal training hours are 8:15am – 4:45pm, although there may be occasions when additional hours are required.
